Why You'll Love Working Here:

We're thrilled to introduce our wonderful client Judy, a vibrant professional woman who loves life! Judy has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), but with her unyielding positivity and sense of humour, she embraces every day with a smile. As someone dedicated to various interests including gardening, politics, crafts, museums, galleries, and cooking, Judy leads an engaging life. Supported by her loving husband and a fantastic team of Support Workers/Personal Assistants, Judy maintains her independence and continues to explore her passions.

Role Requirements:

  • Female applicants only (due to genuine occupational requirements under the Equality Act 2010).
  • Strong and physically fit.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Experience providing practical support (paid/unpaid) to individuals in need is essential.
  • Driving is highly preferable.
  • Interest in gardening, politics, museums, galleries, and cooking is desirable.
  • Ability to style hair and willingness to travel with Judy and her husband is a bonus.

Your Role:

As Judy's Support Worker/Personal Assistant, you'll act as her 'arms and legs', offering essential support in her daily activities. Your responsibilities will range from personal care, nutrition, and medication assistance to helping Judy with her computer and mobile phone. Expect to engage in light household duties, help maintain a neat and tidy environment, and enjoy moments where you can read or use your laptop during 'on-call' times in the designated Support Worker/PA’s room. A cleaner is also employed to help maintain the home.

Position Details: (2 positions)

  • Role 2: Sundays (9:00am-2:00pm) & Mondays (8:00am-6:00pm).

Who is This Role For?

Whether you're new to professional care or have previous experience, this role is perfect if you are open to learning, can follow directions well, and possess excellent communication and listening skills. Editing skills would also be a welcome bonus since Judy is in the process of writing a book!

Perks of the Job:

  • Positive and relaxed work environment.
  • Comprehensive paid training and support.
  • Working alongside an experienced team member until confidence is built.
  • Offered Pilates courses, Christmas bonuses, and driving lesson assistance (if needed).
