Job Opportunity: Mechanic Foreman / Garage Team Lead

Are you an experienced Mechanic Foreman looking for a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable independent garage? Banff Tyre Services – County Garage is seeking a qualified Mechanic Foreman to lead their workshop in Banff, Aberdeenshire. This is a great chance to work in a small, family-oriented company with a strong reputation in the area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure vehicles are prepared safely and in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines.
• Supervise the garage team to ensure timely completion of work.
• Organize the day-to-day running of the workshop.
• Assign work to appropriately skilled team members.
• Coach team members when necessary to successfully complete jobs.
• Liaise with the garage administrator on scheduling, parts requirements, and availability.
• Ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Sort and allocate oils and service parts to jobs.
• Support equipment maintenance.
• Assist the garage administrator in preparing customer quotations.
• Undertake servicing, repairs, and maintenance to a high standard.
• Diagnose additional faults for repair.
• Road test vehicles to ensure quality of work.
• Ensure accurate completion of job cards.
• Maintain and check equipment and tools regularly.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Fully qualified Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• 4 or more years’ experience in the motor trade.
• Previous experience in a small garage environment.
• Supervisory experience and strong teamwork skills.
• Excellent attention to detail under time pressures.
• Proven track record of high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
• Relevant formal qualification is a minimum requirement.
• Full UK Driving license.

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (40 hours per week). No overtime working, but approved overtime is paid as time and a half.
