Maintenance Person / Handyperson

We are looking for a “hands-on” experienced and skilled maintenance person who is able to lead a small team. You will be responsible for carrying out all planned and reactive maintenance and building improvement works across our group consisting of twelve-day nurseries located in Essex, London, Middlesex, Kent, Surrey and Berkshire. 

You must have a good working knowledge of all trades and have your own tools to carry out all aspects of building maintenance work.

You will also need to be accomplished and able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the skills outlined below:

Carpentry (with a technical qualification)
Plumbing/Electrical (basic to intermediate with some technical qualification)
Painting
Plastering repair works
Brickwork repair works

A suitable candidate must have the ability to work on their own, identify maintenance tasks and deal with them diligently and professionally.

The role requires you to work 5 days per week (8.00 am to 5.30 pm with a 1-hour lunch break), including, but not always, weekends and/or bank holidays (generally 2 Saturdays per month) paid overtime or time off in lieu.

You must be a careful and considerate driver with no accidents.

A DBS check will be required to identify any criminal convictions or cases pending. The successful candidate will be expected to have no previous or current convictions.

Job Type: Full-time.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (OTE) per year dependent upon demonstrable experience, quality of workmanship and ability to lead a small team.
