A Senior Hardware Engineer is required for a brand new automotive technology innovation centre, positioning itself at the forefront of electric and hybrid vehicle technology development. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver the advanced engineering of EV and Hybrid vehicle products, for a wide range of global customers. You will lead and contribute to the development of the next-generation control hardware platform.

As Senior Hardware Engineer - Controls you will be required to

Lead and participate in model-based hardware development from high-level architecture design through to implementation, setting up the workflow and providing engineering solutions to automotive industry standards.

Approve MCU oriented hardware design and schematic, PCB and component selection review.

Provide input requirements for design, analysis, simulation and testing. Generate technical specifications, proposals and other documentation.

Support the Head of Department in determining the technology roadmap and specify development milestones. Present constructive ideas to both customers and internal teams. Mentor engineering staff and help grow the technical capability of the team

Work alongside embedded software engineers to specify hardware architecture. Support functional safety engineers to evaluate the functional safety performance of control hardware. Guarantee efficient circulation of technical information among departments.

Actively communicate with external suppliers, universities, research institutes and clients. To keep in line with cutting-edge and future trending technology

As Senior Hardware Engineer - Controls - you will have

A degree / PhD in electronics or related discipline.

Proven experience of hardware development experience in automotive Tier 1 supplier or OEM.

A familiarity with NXP or Infineon processors and peripheral circuit design. Familiarity with ISO26262 hardware design and analysis and component selection. PCB design and ASIC circuit development experience.

Ideally, a knowledge of SPI, CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet communication circuit design, sensing signal interface, filtering and amplifying circuit development. Familiarity with resolver, encoder etc rotor position decoding circuit design
