Nursery Cook

Lucky Beans Childcare provides a 'Home Away From Home' experience for its clients and has the Forest School philosophy running through its DNA. We are all about exceptional, loving and homely care for our children and a focus on outdoor activities every day. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic nursery cook to start immediately at our settings in Tooting and Norbury. This position is suited for someone who is experienced at providing nutritious home-cooked meals. As a cook you will be responsible for the preparation of daily meals, catering for all children, taking account of any special dietary requirements and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen.

In addition, you will also be responsible for:

Consulting with the Nursery Manager for the preparation of seasonal menus, taking account of any special dietary needs.
To maintain adequate stores and food items inappropriate storage conditions.
Ensure that there is an alternative option for children who have allergies
To ensure the kitchen and all kitchen equipment is kept clean and tidy.
To ensure all crockery and utensils are washed-up, using the dishwasher as appropriate.
To clean and defrost the fridge and freezer as necessary.
To prepare and cook simple cakes and biscuits etc. with older children.

Job Type: Full-time.

Salary Expectations: From £8.50 - £10 an hour (if you are willing to do the cleaning for the nursery).

Food hygiene and a full driver’s license is desirable but not mandatory.
