Hospital Porter

University of Warwick - Unitemps has a partnership with Serco Group PLC, and we are currently recruiting for a Hospital Porter at Harplands Hospital in Stoke On Trent. Porters are key members of staff and move patients and goods around the hospital site, with this in mind you would be required to be physically fit.

Due to the nature of the role, an enhanced DBS check will be required to ensure candidates are allowed to work with vulnerable people.

The ideal candidate will have a strong service background and a fast-paced nature. This is opportunity would suit someone who is able to self-manage their workload, help patients and visitors, and has a 'can-do' attitude.

The department is responsible for portering and logistics for the entire site and provides a 24 hour - 7 days per week service and can experience a high volume of work on an ongoing basis.

Duties and responsibilities

* The Porter will be required to self-manage their work and activities with consideration to patient care and other service requirements.

* The safe delivery and movement of items such as records, mail, furniture, linen, medical gasses and other duties including but not limited to equipment management and mortuary transfers.

* Duties are expected to be completed either as an emergency, planned or routine task.
