Head of English and Media

An inspirational Head of English and Media teacher is required to join and lead a very experienced department. The teacher appointed will be expected to teach all year groups from Year 7 through to the Sixth Form. Being able to lead and work as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to share ideas and resources.

The Department currently consists of three full-time teachers and two part-time teachers. The physical facilities consist of five well-equipped rooms which are adjacent to each other, as well as ahead of department office and a small workroom. ICT plays an important part in teaching. The department has provided vocabulary toolkits for all students, which overseas and Dyslexic students find particularly useful.

The school encourages each and every child to think critically, question incisively and solve problems with growing independence. They are guided in their endeavours by teachers who are experts in their respective fields, and who are committed to delivering the very highest standard of learning across a broad, balanced and innovative curriculum.

Beyond the classroom, the school can offer a vast array of extra-curricular activities to develop and challenge each pupil. Fun, enthusiasm and adventure are important parts of the school experience. The happiness and emotional well-being of the pupils lie at the heart of every decision they make.
