Companion / Care Assistant

Looking for a companion/carer for an elderly active lady who lives in the centre of Lewes. She needs a companion who will live with her on a temporary basis. We are looking for someone who can accompany her on walks, help make meals, do washing and remind her to take showers, brush their teeth and eat sensibly.

She enjoys walks around Lewes - The Grange and Priory Ruins and needs gentle reminders on social distancing. She needs someone to stay overnight and be around in case she gets up and has a fall. She has moderate dementia so is often coherent but sometimes gets confused and frightened so a kind person with experience of this would help. She is also diabetic so knowledge or experience of diabetes would be helpful. She is well supported by friends and family but needs a companion to back us all up.

There is relief care between 2 and 4 every day so the companion can have a break. We already have one lady who helps and we are looking to build a team of two companions who can take turns living in and helping. She is good company and a good sense of humour. We provide accommodation, food and pay.
