Job Opportunity: Animal Rescue Officer (ARO)

Are you passionate about animal welfare and dream of a world where animals are treated with compassion? The RSPCA is recruiting Animal Rescue Officers across England and Wales. No prior animal handling experience is required, as full training will be provided.

Role Overview:
As an ARO, you'll be on the front line, responding to reports of animal cruelty, neglect, or injury. Your responsibilities will include rescuing sick, injured, or stranded animals and taking them to safety. While rewarding, the role can be emotionally challenging, requiring resilience and a calm and professional approach.

Requirements:

Minimum age: 17 (18 by start date)
Must live within a reasonable distance (30 minutes) of the group area applied to
Available to start on 8th April 2024, with full availability for a 4-month intensive training period
Full manual driver's license and comfortable driving long distances
Ideally, Level 2 qualification in English Language at GCSE grade C or above (Grades 4-9)
Application Process:

Attend an awareness session on 5th or 6th Dec
Online group assessments (11 - 21st December)
On-line panel-based interview in January 2024
Please consider the role's requirement to euthanize animals when necessary. The position involves shifts, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
