Ernest W Cockrell

Growing up in Southeastern Oklahoma, Ernest W. Cockrell's route took him to Harvard Divinity School, where he studied under renowned biblical archaeologists. This event revealed an important relationship between religion and reality. After being ordained at Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, Cockrell spent 25 years at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church in Marion, Massachusetts. In 1969, he worked as a summer vicar in Hertfordshire, England, which marked the beginning of his foreign trip. By 1992, he had begun a new chapter as rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and School in Saratoga, California, where he continued to provide meaningful spiritual leadership.
