Established in the UK in 2012 we are a small business selling to retailers in the UK and Ireland. To support this, we are looking for a Trainee Sales & Marketing Assistant who can help us achieve this. For more information on the company.

The Role:

The Trainee Sales & Marketing Assistant is a key role within Vanguard and should be able to demonstrate a broad experience covering a range of areas. Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Director, the key elements of the role are based on the experience and capability of the individual, but would ultimately include:

o Managing Amazon Vendor Central & Amazon Seller

Amazon is a key customer of Vanguard and is managed remotely through Amazon’s online tools.

o Managing orders/shipment/invoicing

o Issue resolution/reconciliation

o New product management and content creation

o Amazon Marketing

o Managing a team of Vanguard Ambassadors

These are independent photographers aligned to Vanguard on a voluntary basis.

o Signing on and retaining new Vanguard Ambassadors

o Co-Ordinating all communication with Vanguard Ambassadors

o Sourcing content for Vanguard social media

o Co-ordinating initiatives such as product videos

o Managing Vanguard social media

Social media is key to Vanguard marketing, including Facebook (Photo and Nature), Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, so building audiences is key through

o Sourcing content and running activities (live events or competitions)

o Running product content to drive sales

o Responding to online interaction

o Tracking Vanguard presence

o Supporting Website initiatives

o Creating blogs

o Implementing product updates

o Developing email campaigns

o Supporting sales initiatives

o Project management

o Supporting dealer and national events

o Creating tailored content

o Backup to Office Manager during holidays/illness

o Managing orders/shipment/invoicing

o Managing incoming emails/emails

o Managing the office environment/equipment

o Liaising with warehouse

o Helping resolve consumer care issues

o Ad-hoc support and problem-solving wherever necessary

Skills:

The successful candidate would not be expected to have all the skills for the complete role, but this is an excellent opportunity to learn on the job and develop the skills that would allow the individual to move ahead in a sales or marketing career, either within Vanguard or elsewhere. As a result, the individual is more important than the experience. We need a versatile individual with:

• Attention to detail is essential

• Multi-tasker who can cope under pressure

• Flexible, adaptable and able to use own initiative to solve problems

• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to put team first when needed

• Experience in social media with creative ideas

• Computer literate, especially Excel

• Willingness to get involved in any task that needs to be done

• Interest in photography (or willingness to learn more)

• Knowledge of Sage (not essential)

Benefits:

• Salary: £10ph-£11ph

• Pension: Joint contribution pension

• Hours: Full time / Part-time (min 20hrspw)
