Title: Male Support Worker. 

Location: Gerrards Cross, SL9. 

Nearest Train Station: Northolt. 

Wage: Up to £17.00 gross per hour. 

Driver required? Yes. 

Use of Car: On duty. 

Essential: Working with young people with cerebral palsy, satisfactory DBS and reference. 

Start Date: ASAP. 

Days & Hours: A mixture of weekdays and weekends. 

About this client:

Alex, 9 is an active and sporty young man. He is football-crazy and loves to try any new sport. He is very sociable and likes to be around people, chat and play pranks and jokes! Alex has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy and dysarthria and dysphagia. He is a keen communicator and if he cannot be understood he will use his iPad or Makaton signs. Alex attends a mainstream school; he is curious and enthusiastic about learning and enjoys going to school.

Overview of the role:

Your role as a Support Worker will be to assist Alex with all his daily tasks. You will support him at home and in the community, assist with personal care and therapy routines and encourage Alex to become as independent as possible. Hours available are Term-time: 2-weekday shifts on a rota basis from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm and Saturday and Sunday 10.00 am to 7.30 pm. School holidays: 2-weekday shifts, Saturday and Sunday 10.00 am to 7.30 pm. The hourly rate is £15.00 gross per hour weekdays and £17.00 gross per hour weekends.

This job will suit a friendly and energetic Male support worker who will connect with Alex and also offer reassurance to Alex’s mother. You will be sporty, experienced and understand the importance to promote independence.
