Crop Health and Protection (CHAP) Ltd is one of four UK Agri-Tech Centres launched under BEIS supported by Innovate UK in 2015. As a unique, independent nexus between the UK government, researchers and industry, CHAP builds innovation networks to identify and accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions to drive transformative change in sustainable crop production. CHAP is seeking a Scientific Support Coordinator to grow its understanding, connections and partnerships across the sector.
The Opportunity
As part of the Innovation Team and reporting to the Innovation Director, the Scientific Support Coordinator will be responsible for horizon scanning for the latest game-changing developments, increasing market intelligence and sourcing compelling content for the CHAP website and other media channels from a network of contributors. You will also work closely with the CHAP commercial team and be key to helping CHAP keep its finger on the pulse of the latest cutting-edge advances in agritech and further afield.
The Candidate
Suitable candidates will have a PhD in a science discipline and/or experience of working within a relevant industry with a solid understanding of the academic research and development sector and/or commercial technology research sector. The candidate will demonstrate a great ability to liaise with a wide variety of colleagues - technical and non-technical as well as build relationships with a number of organisations. It goes without saying excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are vital.
