Ruby Software Engineer Tech Lead / Coach

A Ruby on Rails Tech Lead / Coach is required to join one a rapidly growing Fintech in London. You will be an experienced coder, who has also mentored and trained Engineers.

I am working with a UK Fintech Company in London who has grown to 300 staff and expanded across Europe in the last 10 years.

With a tech team of over 100 developers, they are looking to bring on a Senior Ruby Engineer who will lead, mentor and train a new team of junior Ruby Developers.

As an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer, you will be someone who has a passion for Ruby and teaching others and will want to be instrumental in the growth and development of engineers by mentoring, guiding and coaching.

The successful Ruby on Rails Coach will be helping teach the Junior/trainee team (7 Engineers) best practices of Software Engineering, while still being a hands-on coder.

Requirements:

Significant commercial experience with Ruby on Rails (5+ years of experience).

Have a passion for teaching and mentoring junior developers.

Deep understanding of object-orientated programming.

TDD, relational database (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Previous experience working in a company scaling up is useful, but not essential.

A desire to learn, grow and work with a team and deliver software.
