Retail Assistant Manager who has good team leadership and supervisory skills with fashion store management experience, who is results-driven and has experience of delivering excellent customer service is required for a busy Community Charity Shop based in Crowthorne, Berkshire. 

This is not your normal Charity Shop. It has the look and feels of any well-presented high street store. And better still, the store is raising much-needed funds for the Charity, so they can keep on doing the work they were set up for.

SALARY: £19,054 pro-rata

LOCATION: Crowthorne, Berkshire

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

HOURS: 24 Hours per Week, 3 Days per Week, including Saturdays on a rota

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Retail Assistant Manager who has good team leadership and supervisory skills with fashion store management experience, who is results-driven and has experience of delivering excellent customer service.

As the Retail Assistant Manager, you will effectively manage a team of staff and volunteers, whilst maintaining high standards of excellent customer service and visual merchandising skills.

Working as the Retail Assistant Manager you will be customer-focused and support the Shop Manager with the day-to-day management of the shop, which will include deputising for the Shop Manager when they are absent.

As a successful candidate, you will have a fantastic opportunity to be part of a busy community shop offering an extensive product range and a unique shopping experience where you will find the best quality pre-loved stock across all departments. DUTIES

Your duties as the Retail Assistant Manager:

Support the Shop Manager with the day-to-day management of the shop

Assist in the completion of weekly paperwork

Follow agreed cash handling procedures

Take responsibility for daily banking when required

Support the management of stocktakes

Create a welcoming, happy and professional atmosphere for customers and the shop team

Provide excellent customer service at all times

Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, window displays and housekeeping

Support the shop manager to manage and motivate the shop team and volunteers to deliver targets and excellent customer service

Supervise a team of staff and volunteers including arranging appropriate staffing levels, assisting with staff recruitment, induction and training

Act as the accountable key holder for the shop when required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

Recent retail experience in a supervisory role, including sales targets

Experience of working in a fashion environment with brand knowledge

Experience of cash handling

Knowledge of Health and Safety obligations

Be flexible, and be willing to work additional hours, when required

Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication about relevant topics with customers and colleagues

Willingness and ability to demonstrate a commitment to the Charity’s values

Desirable

Experience of recruiting and managing volunteers and working within a charity

Experience of working for a charity

Ability to use and work with IT systems e.g. Stock IT system including Word, Excel and email

Current driving licence with insurance cover for “Business Use” is desirable
