Description

Experienced part-time Support Worker required for a gentleman who has a brain injury living in the Plymouth area.

An opportunity has arisen for a bright, energetic and motivated person with a robust personality to work with our client in a rehabilitation and support role.

You should be quick and free thinking, enabling him to lead a life that is fulfilling and meaningful. Maximising his physical and psychological well-being and promoting his safety at all times.

Giving help and assistance with all activities of daily living, building, developing and nurturing a therapeutic relationship with him to support him in all areas of independent living.

You will work closely with the relevant professionals implementing the client’s rehabilitative therapy programme and facilitating social activities. You should have good communication skills and be competent at recording and reporting.

You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the client’s life and to join a small team. Full training and ongoing support provided with the opportunities to progress with professional development.

Working hours: 15 hours per week, 10.00am – 3.00pm Tuesday to Thursday.

Our client seeks someone who is well organised, flexible and has previous experience of working in a private care setting and/or with brain injury/stroke rehabilitation.

Rates of pay £12.00 per hour Monday to Friday, £14.00 per hour Saturday and Sunday.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult Workforce Barring. A full driving licence is essential.
