Dudsbury Golf Club Hotel & Spa.

We are looking to recruit a fully experienced Part-time Night Porter to join our team. Successful applicants must have the previous background and full experience in a similar hotel night /security role. Must also be fully computer literate with good working knowledge of MS office, excel, word and outlook with a good knowledge of restaurant and hotel booking systems.

Applicants need to have their own transport as we are not on a public transport route.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and background. We offer company pension scheme, free car park.

Job Description

Job Title: Part-time Night Porter

Responsible to: General Manager

Dudsbury Golf Club is a 26 bedroom hotel, with Bistro currently open for lunch and dinner and we cater for very small weddings and wakes inline with current government guidelines.

This is a position of responsibility taking care of the Club, hotel, Spa, and guests during the night inline with current COVID19 secure guidelines.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Duties include, serving at the bar, setting up for breakfast, cleaning/bleaching public areas and reception area during the night, guest relations basic room service ie sandwich preparation, early check outs and handover, securing the hotel and clubhouse.

Responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the security of the hotel during the night:

General cleaning duties.

Checking in of guests after the receptionist has finished his/her shift.

Responsible for all night cleaning work and special tasks as requested by management setting up for business next day.

In the event of an emergency to summon management and / or emergency services.

• Clock in

• Take over the night shift from the duty receptionist and check for any messages, late arrivals, early check-outs , newspapers and early breakfasts etc.

• Read the night porters handover book for any messages.

• Collect a copy of the occupancy list from the duty receptionist. This list contains information on the numbers of guests/occupied rooms (needed if there is a fire). It also includes the unoccupied rooms, which

need to be checked as per the check list.

• A list of the newspapers required will also be given to you, these are for the guest bedrooms or for the lounge area of the restaurant.

Ensure that all messages and correspondence are properly dealt with and passed onto the morning receptionist. Also, pass on information about anything that happened during the night, in person and in the night porters diary.
