Office Depot A4 Guillotine works without Broken Guard - maybe guard could be fixed?

As shown in the photos, this is in good condition, apart from the guard which has broken at the anchor points on the bed of the guillotine, this could maybe be fixed with some angled metal or some other solution by someone with practical skills or be used with care, as is.
