One of the most sought after employers in South Wales is looking for an experienced Logistics and Planning Operations Manager to join their globally recognised business.
Responsibilities:
• Leadership and Management of the Planning and Logistics function to achieve and deliver business goals and deliver to customer requirements, committed delivery dates and the forecasted monthly/weekly production plans.
• Ensuring the quality of shipments and deliveries of the products at customer arrival.
• To continuously review the performance of the output and to identify surplus or shortfalls using the current forecasted monthly/weekly production plan and the future forecasted monthly sales plan.
• Continuous Improvement - ensuring processes are capable to support sales growth, technological change, new products introductions to maximise efficiency and effectively manage costs.
• Ensuring seamless growth with minimal incremental cost and exposure to the business.
• Continuous improvement of process and people to deliver agility, efficiency, and consistent quality i.e. maintain ISO standards, management reporting, coordinate corrective action and escalation
• Failure Analysis - together with the Engineering and QA / QC teams, provide proactive technical management of escalated customer issues
Knowledge and skills required:
• Demonstrated experience of implementing modern manufacturing and material management techniques.
• MRP & Production Planning working knowledge
• Excellent understanding of cost drivers and demonstrated the success of cost reduction.
• Demonstrated financial acumen is essential e.g. P&L management.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop people.
