Live-in Nanny

A fantastic full-time role has become available for a friendly and welcoming family in East Norton, located just a few miles from Uppingham, Rutland. Mum is looking for an extra pair of hands to help her with her busy family made up of 5 children aged from 8 months to 16 years. Her four older children attend school and so your main role will be to help with their 8-month-old little boy. During the day mum would like someone to take sole charge of their son who enjoys spending time exploring in their 5-acre garden which is attached to a 10-acre field. – a great place to run around with the children and feed the families friendly alpacas. There is a small circle of Nannies known to the family through friends of theirs who you can meet up with during the day when taking the little boy out and about to local groups and parks and fun, educational settings.

The little boy has regular naps during the day and is beginning to eat solid foods so you would be required to help with the preparation of his meals and learn about his sleep routine. When it’s time to collect the other children from school, Mum is happy to share this role and either collect the children whilst you stay with their youngest, or alternatively, you may collect the children while Mum stays at home with the baby. On arriving back from school at 4pm, the older children have a snack and then get on with homework and have free time. The oldest children aged 16 and 13 years are quite independent, whereas their 9- and 6-year-old may need a little support with homework and reading. The children will then have their evening meal, usually made by Dad who loves to cook, and then preparation would begin for the morning routine which will include helping and encouraging the younger children to prepare their uniforms, school bags, pe kits and snacks for school in readiness for the next day. This will then be followed by bath and bedtime for the younger children.

During the school holidays, the role will change, and you days will be different. Some days Mum would like you to do fun activities and outings with the two girls aged 6 and 9 while she stays at home with the baby and on other days mum would like to spend time with the girls. The older children will occasionally need dropping off at a friend’s house or to the cinema – Mum is very happy to do these drops off too but would like to have someone to share them with. Mum and dad both work from home and are there to help if need be. Other duties for this role include encouraging and helping the children to keep their bedrooms tidy and some help with the children’s laundry.

The days and timings for this role are 9am until 8pm, with a break during the day, Monday to Friday for either a daily Nanny or a live-in Nanny. The live-in accommodation is a newly renovated, self-contained annex with its own private entrance, bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower, kitchen, and dining area. There will be some travel to Europe or the USA at some points throughout the year.

Pay: £13 Gross an hour / £37,180 Gross Annual Salary
