Live-in Governess / Governor

Our client, residing in Berkshire, is seeking a Live-in Governess/Governor/Tutor for their 9-year-old son.

They are searching for a candidate who has a background in teaching and is familiar with the British curriculum and teaching methods to help improve the child’s English and Mathematics skills. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and qualified educator with several years of relevant experience, as well as having a good understanding of child development. Experience within a school and private family is necessary.

The role will include the following responsibilities, but is not limited to:

Structuring routines
Physical and social development and attending to educational needs
Teaching English in an interactive manner
Teaching reading and writing
Playing with the child
Participating in sporting activities, going out for walks and exploring

The ideal candidate will also be sporty and dynamic, with good creativity for indoor and outdoor child-friendly activities. The client is searching for a candidate who is happy to play tennis, football, go running and swimming with the boy, and in general has a genuine love for children, with a caring and friendly personality. The role is to become like an older friend/brother to the boy – it is essential you are comfortable fitting into this family’s life and living amongst them.

Location: Ascot, Berkshire

Contract Length: Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

Children: 1 Child – 9 year old boy

Working Days: 5/6 days per week

Working Hours: in the region of 48 hours per week

Accommodation: Separate bedroom with private bathroom.

Salary: Circa £2,500-£3,000 NET per month - will also receive salary during the absence of the family (all school holidays).
