Junior Butler

A repeat client is looking to hire a Junior Butler to join their team. This is a newly created role to assist the House Manager/Head Butler in the daily running of the residence. The role is live-out, however, arrangments can be made for live-in should the ideal candidate require accommodation. 

Suitable candidates will have a hospitality/hotel background. Experience within the private household is not essential, therefore the position is open to new candidates looking to embark on a private staff career. Yacht Stewards would also be a very strong fit.

The client is a young couple who have an established team of valued private staff. The chosen candidate will be working under the direction of the House Manager who will provide training in service, wardrobe care etc.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a candidate who has several years of experience within the hospitality sector and is now looking to dedicate themselves to private service.

Responsibilities

Table service
Preparing teas and coffees
Preparing drinks, cocktails, wine service
Overseeing wine cellar
Handling delicate garments
Wardrobe management
Valet duties
Care and inventory of Principal’s wardrobe, accessories, leather goods
Packing & unpacking suitcases
Polishing silver & care of antiques
Housekeeping
Some simple cooking on occasion (eggs, a simple salad/light snack etc)
Driving is not essential (a bonus for errand running)
To blend with the existing team and ensure the smooth running of the household

Key Requirements

A keen and enthusiastic approach
Hospitality experience
Dedicated/looking to commit to the role long term
Immaculate personal presentation/appearance at all times
The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of wardrobe care
Confident with simple food preparation
Availability to start in the role within 4 weeks
An energetic, detail orientated and professional demeanour.
