Irrigation / Estate Maintenance

Sandfields Farms is one of the UK’s largest fresh produce suppliers to the major retailers, growing over 1000 ha of salad crops.

The role is varied, challenging and requires regular planning with the management team. The role involves working with the irrigation team to lay irrigation pipes, set up irrigation equipment, servicing of farm equipment and cultivation work. The role requires initiative to proactively carry out running repairs and keeping maintenance records.

Other requirements include general estate maintenance tasks e.g. Track maintenance, fencing, repairing irrigation and water mains etc.

Experience with large scale field irrigation would be an advantage although if the applicant is dedicated, highly motivated, reliable, have a passion for learning and can operate with a hands-on approach the applicant will be considered.

The ability to plan and organise workloads in a team environment while maintaining a safe operation in outdoor working conditions is critical.

360 excavator experience would be an advantage.

The successful applicant must be able to communicate effectively in English, be competent in operating agricultural machinery and have a valid driving licence.

Temporary accommodation could be available on the farm if required.

The salary will reflect experience.
