Position: Seasonal Hostel Assistant.

Location: Aviemore Youth Hostel (PH22 1PR).

Contract: Fixed term, immediate start until 01/Nov/22.

Hours per week: 32 (may increase up to 40 during busy times).

Pay: £9.75 per hour + benefits.

Accommodation: This is a live-out position.

We are recruiting a Seasonal Hostel Assistant for 2022 Season to join our dedicated, friendly and professional team at our Aviemore Youth Hostel, part of the Lochaber Group.

About the role:

You will provide excellent customer service, undertaking ranges of hostel duties including full reception service, check-in/out, handling customer enquiries, cleaning and housekeeping and basic catering duties.

Ideally suitable applicant will have:

Worked successfully in a customer facing role, preferably in similar hospitality surroundings with commitment to excellent customer service
Excellent, confident communication skill and ability to work as team and without supervision.
Experience in cash handling and IT literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook and email)
Housekeeping experience with keen attention to details.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work to changing workload and priorities during busy times

Knowledge of food and hygiene practice and Health and Safety at Work including fire safety and evacuation would be an advantage.

You will be trained in all areas and will rotate through a variety of shifts to ensure everyone is capable of covering the various aspects of the hostel operations.

You will be part of a small close knit team, it is therefore essential that all members are capable and willing to support and respect each other, maintaining team morale to create a positive environment for both guest and employee experience.

Additional Information:

The role involves some degree of physical activities such as bed making of bunk beds with upper and lower beds, including stripping and turning beds.
Cover may be required at other hostels within the Cairngorm Group to provide support, i.e. Braemar, Cairngorm Lodge and Pitlochry Youth Hostels.
All successful candidates are required to provide one satisfactory reference and a recent Basic Disclosure clearance
You must be able to present an evidence of your right to work in the UK prior to start with us.
