Head of Legal Healthcare / Medicine

We're looking for a candidate to this position in an exciting company.

The purpose of this role is to head up and manage the Company's legal team. You will advise your colleagues on a wide range of contractual and legal matters. You will lead on negotiations and will work with the Director of Business Development to ensure that precedent documents and negotiated agreements meet the needs of the organisation. Your role will also include company secretary duties. You will be the 'go-to' legal expert for the company, providing advice in a wide variety of contractual situations including property leases, collaboration agreements, clinical trial agreements, intellectual property licenses, sales terms and conditions. You will need a broad knowledge of contract law along with an interest in expanding your working knowledge in many diverse areas of legal practice such as State Aid.

To succeed in this role will need to be a minimum of 7 PQE. It is also essential that you have 5+ years of experience working in the house or in private practice within life science/biotechnology/healthcare companies. You will have a broad experience of leading negotiations and ideally will have previously worked with Clinical Trial Agreements using and amending the NHS/ABPI/BIA template agreements. Experience in dealing with IP contracts will be beneficial. In terms of key competencies, you have the ability to quickly establish credibility, build rapport and trust with internal and external stakeholders.
