Head Housekeeper Sought for Property in North London

A large stately home Near Radlett, WD7, North London are looking for a live-in Housekeeper to join their team of staff. They are looking for someone who is experienced and confident in housekeeping and has a positive, can-do attitude. You must have a full driving license for this role. 

Package Offered: 

£35,000 - £40,000 gross per year. 
Working Friday-Tuesday, 8 am-5 pm. 
Private accommodation provided in the family home with all bills included. 

Background 

A beautiful stately home Near Radlett, WD7, North London. Living in the property are a family of three, along with the live-in members of staff. The property has lots of antique furniture and fine art and may bedrooms set over 4 floors. They are looking for someone who can become a great asset to the team, who can work well on their own initiative and work well with a team of staff.

Duties

Ensuring that all areas of the house are clean and free of dust on a daily basis. Cleaning/care of antique furniture and paintings. Advice House Manager of any items requiring specific attention or repair. Making sure all bedrooms are kept clean and tidy and beds are made. Ensuring all private and communal bathrooms/lavatories are kept clean and that high levels of hygiene are maintained. Checking that all areas of the house are functioning correctly (light bulbs, bathrooms, lift etc) and reporting to the House Manager anything which needs rectifying. Checking all cleaning supplies are kept stocked and advising the House Manager if anything needs to be purchased. Care and basic maintenance of all cleaning and laundry equipment and areas. Report any issues to the House Manager. Specific cleaning of gym area and equipment. Cleaning of the pool house and reporting any issues to the House Manager. Care and cleaning of silverware/brass using the correct methods as requested. Looking after guests and ensuring they have everything they need. Assisting the House Manager/Houseman with any luggage as required. Laundering of clothes and bed linen. Dealing with any contractors, workmen or visitors as required. Working with other staff members to ensure that security within the house and grounds is maintained. Light cooking for the family on the chef’s days off – cooking basic recipes to a good standard Service at dinner parties as requested. Working with the House Manager to source any floral arrangements and ensure they are looked after and kept watered.

Location

The property is near Radlett, WD7, North London. This is a live-in role. They will provide private staff accommodation of a self-contained flat within the stately home.

Days/Hours

Working Friday-Tuesday, 8 am-5 pm. Flexibility is important for this role.

Languages

You should speak an excellent level of English.

Skills

You must have solid experience as a housekeeper in private households. You must have a full driving license for this role.
