Kitchen Chef / Cook who has a good understanding of nutrition and good team working and communication skills is required to support and meet the dietary needs of residents in a residential home based in Burnham, Slough, Buckinghamshire.
SALARY: £12.51 per hour (Weekday Rate) / £13.16 per hour (Weekend Rate)
LOCATION: Burnham, Slough, Buckinghamshire
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
HOURS: 40 Hours per Week Shifts between 8 am and 6 pm (shift work including weekends)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Kitchen Chef / Cook who has a good understanding of nutrition and good team working and communication skills with the ability to support and meet the dietary needs of residents.
Working as the Kitchen Chef / Cook you will provide varied, wholesome and nutritious food in sufficient quantities.
As the Kitchen Chef / Cook you will have previous experience in a similar role and the ability to order/menu, plan/stock control whilst working to a budget.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Kitchen Chef / Cook will include:
To prepare, cook and present food including special diets, according to planned menus and to record at all times any changes in menus
To prepare all orders for goods daily/weekly and to determine the quality and quantity upon delivery to ensure adequate stock control in conjunction with the Head of Kitchen
To report all equipment defects to the Head of Kitchen
To monitor plate and other kitchen waste daily and analyse with the Head of Kitchen
To meet all resident’s dietary needs and note their dietary preferences
Together with the Head of Kitchen to be involved in menu planning, taking into account the financial budget, individual and medical needs of resident’s
To work together with the kitchen team
To undertake on-the-job training for juniors in all aspects of food preparation, cooking and presentation
To record and undertake a comprehensive cleaning schedule for the kitchen and stores
To complete Safer Food Better Business daily/weekly/monthly entries and risk assessments as required
To maintain and record fridge/freezer temperatures
Be aware of the responsibilities regarding the Health & Safety Act (1974) and to ensure that agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment for employees, residents and visitors
Participate in staff meetings and training activities as required
Ensure Training & Development folders are used and updated following training
