If you are looking for a new environment to work alongside a multidisciplinary team that provides care for adult men (18+) with forensic background and complex mental health needs, the Associate Specialist Doctor role may be for you.
Reporting to a Consultant at Farmfield Hospital, you will have prior experience working in a similar environment, completing specialist training within medicine. You will ensure all service users have a full physical health screen upon admission, this will include a physical examination, ECG and blood, you will take the lead on managing any physical health concerns and continue to analyse their mental health.
Farmfield Hospital is currently undergoing an additional expansion to the service, this is due to open in spring 2020. You will be providing specialist care and support for people with mental health needs.
You will be working at Farmfield Hospital, situated in Charlwood, Surrey which is located near to Gatwick Airport and is commutable from South London, Crawley, Horsham and surrounding areas.

Your responsibilities
Ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours. Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family. Completing discharge letters/reports/s62 forms as required in a timely manner. Preparing First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of the Consultant. Depending on your experience, providing oral evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings under the supervision of the Consultant. Contributing to the service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities by conducting audits, research and teaching. Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that patients have access to appropriate medical cover at all times. Providing prospective cover to other speciality doctors when they are on leave.
